Rear Carpet Replacement
Special Tools Required
- KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014*
*Available through the Acura Tool and Equipment Program.
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides Front Seat Removal/Installation
- Front door sill trim, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Front Door Sill Area
- Rear door sill trim, both sides Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Door Sill Area
- Dashboard center trim Dashboard Center Trim Removal/Installation
- Center console rear trim Center Console Rear Trim Removal/Installation
- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation
- Rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal/Installation
- Shift cable Service and Repair
- Shift lever bracket base A/T Shift Lever Removal
2. Remove the bolts, then remove the yaw rate-lateral acceleration sensor mounting bracket (A). Detach the harness clips (C), and remove the ground bolt (D) with a TORX T30 bit. Disconnect the SRS unit connector B.
3. Remove the clips (A) securing the front carpet (B) and the rear carpet (C).
4. Pull the rear carpet out by detaching the clips (D), cut the carpet in the areas (E) shown, then remove the carpet.
5. Install the rear carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet.
- If the clips fastening the carpet to the floor are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
