DTC Troubleshooting: B2969

DTC B2969: Climate Control Unit Lost Communication with Driver's MICU (WIPSW message)

NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in the B-CAN system diagnosis test mode A. Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode.

3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

4. Do the self-diagnostic with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

5. Check the DTCs.

Is DTC B2969 indicated?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Intermittent failure. Check for loose wires or poor connections on the climate control unit connector C (20P).


6. Check for DTCs with the HDS (Do all system scan).

Are any of the following DTCs indicated; B1958, B1063, or B1156 indicated?
YES - Do the driver's MICU input test. Multiplex Integrated Control System MICU Input Test

NO - Do the climate control unit power and ground troubleshooting. Climate Control Power and Ground Circuit Troubleshooting
