RSX Front Subframe Removal Adapter

The RSX front subframe removal adapter is a required tool. When properly fitted to a transmission jack and the vehicle's front subframe, the adapter provides a convenient way to remove the subframe. Front subframe removal is required for transmission removal.

NOTE:
The adapter is for subframe support only; it will not support the entire powertrain assembly.

ORDERING INFORMATION

The RSX front subframe removal adapter, T/N EQS02C000011, was shipped to each dealership as a required special tool. To order additional adapters, call the Acura Tool and Equipment Program at 888-424-6857.

USING THE ADAPTER

NOTE:
The adapter is designed to be used with the transmission jack, available through the Acura Tool and Equipment Program. (Call 888-424-6857.) The adapter also works with many commercially available transmission jacks.

1. Loosen the four bolts that hold the adapter's adjustable arms to its center plate.

2. Line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corners of the jack base, then attach the adapter to the jack base with the bolts that came with the jack. Tighten all bolts securely.

3. Raise the vehicle on a lift. Raise the jack to vehicle height under the subframe.

4. With the rear bar of the adapter spanning the sides of the subframe, attach the adapter to the front of the subframe, and tighten the knurled bolt.

5. With all vehicle parts properly supported or removed (see Transmission Removal, section 13 for M/T or section 14 for A/T, in the 2002 RSX Service Manual), carefully lower the subframe using the controls on the jack.
