Front
RUN-OUT INSPECTION1. Raise each side of the vehicle, and support it on safety stand. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the brake disc pads.
3. Inspect the disc surface for cracks and rust. Clean the disc thoroughly, and remove all rust.
4. Use the wheel nuts and plain washers to hold the disc securely against the hub, then mount a dial indicator as shown.
Brake Disc Runout:
Service Limit: 0.10 mm (0.004 inch)
5. If the disc is beyond the service limit, refinish it.
Max. Refinishing Limit: 26.0 mm (1.02 inch)
NOTE: A new disc should be refinished if its runout is greater than 0.10 mm (0.004 inch).
THICKNESS INSPECTION
1. Raise each side of the vehicle, and support it on safety stands. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the brake disc pads.
3. Using a micrometer, measure disc thickness at eight points, approximately 45° apart and 10 mm (0.4 inch) in from the outer edge of the disc.
Brake disc thickness:
Standard: 28.0 mm (1.10 inch) max.
Service Limit: 26.0 mm (1.02 inch)
Brake Disc Parallelism:
The difference between any thickness measurements should not be more than 0.015 mm (0.0006 inch).
4. If the disc is beyond the limits for parallelism, refinish it.
Max. Refinishing Limit: 19.0 mm (0.75 inch)
