Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

Sending Unit Testing

WARNING: Do not smoke while working on the fuel system. Keep open flames away from your work area.

1. Remove the fuel tank access panel.




2. With the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the 3P connector (C752) from the fuel gauge sending unit.




3. Remove the five nuts, and take the fuel gauge sending unit out of the fuel tank.




4. Measure the resistance between the No.1 and No.2 terminals at E (EMPTY), 1/2 (HALF FULL) and F (FULL) by moving the float.
If the readings are beyond the range, replace the fuel gauge sending unit.

NOTE: Use a new gasket when reassembling.
