Dashboard Component Removal and Installation
Component Removal/Installation
CAUTION: When prying with a flat tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.
NOTE: Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
Instrument panel:
1. Remove the switches and disconnect the connectors.
-Cruise control master switch
-Panel brightness controller
2. Remove the screws, then carefully remove the instrument panel.
3. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
NOTE: Make sure the connectors are connected properly.
Dashboard lower cover and knee bolster:
1. Remove the coin pocket.
2. Remove the screw and detach the clips, then remove the dashboard lower cover.
3. Disconnect the connector and air hose, and remove the bolts, then remove the knee bolster.
4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
NOTE: Make sure the connector and air hose are connected properly.
Glove box:
1. Remove the screw, then remove the damper from the glove box.
2. Remove the bolts, then remove the glove box.
3. If necessary, remove the damper and striker.
4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
Passenger's dashboard panel:
1. Remove the audio unit.
NOTE: Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Open the glove box.
3. Remove the screws, then carefully pull out the passenger's dashboard panel and climate control unit as an assembly. Disconnect the connector, then remove it.
4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
NOTE: Make sure the connector is connected properly. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
Driver's dashboard panel:
Remove the dashboard, disconnect the moonroof switch connector, then remove the driver's dashboard panel
Center air vent:
1. Remove:
-Console panel
-Audio unit
-Passenger's dashboard panel
NOTE: Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Push the clips from the console panel opening by hand, then carefully pull out the center air vent.
3. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
NOTE: Make sure the climate control unit connector is connected properly. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
Side air vent:
Driver's: Remove the dashboard lower cover.
Passenger's: Open the glove box.
Push the clips from the opening by hand, then carefully pull out the side air vent.
Side defogger trim:
Carefully pry the side defogger trim at the rear edge, then remove it.
