Air Bag Disarming and Arming

DISARMING
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable from the battery, and wait at least three minutes.
3. Disconnect the airbag connector(s):






Driver's Airbag:
- Remove the access panel from the steering wheel, then disconnect the connector between the driver's airbag and cable reel.


Passenger's 2p Connector:





Front Passenger's Airbag:
- Remove the glove box.
- Disconnect the connector between the front passenger's airbag and SRS main harness.

NOTE: When disconnected, the airbag connector is automatically shorted.






Side Airbag (if equipped):
- Disconnect the SRS floor harness 2P connector from the side airbag harness 2P connector.

NOTE: When disconnected, the airbag connector is automatically shorted.






Seat Belt Tensioner (if equipped):
- Remove the left and right "B" pillar trim panel.
- Disconnect both seat belt tensioner connectors from the left (driver's side) or right (front passenger's side) side wire harness.

NOTE: When disconnected, the seat belt tensioner connector is automatically shorted.


ARMING
1. Reconnect the airbag and tensioner's (if equipped) connector(s):






Driver's Side:
- Connect the driver's airbag connector to the cable reel connector, then install the access panel on the steering wheel.






Front Passenger's Airbag:
- Connect the front passenger's airbag connector to the SRS main harness connector, then install the glove box.






Side Airbag (if equipped):
- Connect the side airbag harness 2P connector to the SRS floor harness 2P connector.
- Reclining and slide the front seat forward fully, make sure the harness wires and not pinched or interfering with other parts.

2. Reconnect the battery positive cable, the connect the negative cable.
3. Confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch ON (II): the SRS indicator light should come on for about six seconds and then go off.


Driver's Side:
- Make sure horn button works.
- Take a test drive, and make sure the cruise control switches work.


4. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
