Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair
WARNING: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures under Air Bags before performing repairs or service.1. Remove the front console.
2. Remove the shift lock solenoid 3F connector from the mounting bracket, then disconnect the connector.
3. Remove the solenoid pin from the shift lock solenoid.
4. Remove the mounting nuts, then remove the shift lock solenoid.
5. Apply silicone grease to the shift lock solenoid, where it mates to the shift lock extension.
6. Install the shift lock solenoid in the reverse order of removal.
7. Turn the shift lock solenoid ON. Turn the ignition switch ON, and depress the brake pedal with the accelerator pedal released. Then make sure there is clearance between the top of the shift lock lever and the lock pin groove as shown.
8. Tighten the mounting nuts to the specified torque.
9. Turn the shift lock solenoid OFF (release the brake pedal), then make sure that the lock pin is blocked by the shift lock lever.
