Installation
CAUTION:- Make sure that all the rocker arms are in alignment with their valves before torquing the rocker shaft bolts.
- The valve locknuts should be loosened and the adjusting screws backed off before installation.
1. Gently tap the new camshaft oil seal in to the cylinder head.
NOTE:
- Apply a light coat of oil to around the seal.
- Tap the camshaft oil seal in squarely.
- Tap the oil seal in the cylinder head about 0.5-1.5 mm (0.02-0.06 inch) from the surface of cylinder head.
Camshaft Installation:
2. Insert the camshaft into the cylinder head, then install the camshaft thrust cover.
NOTE: Check that the oil seal lips are not distorted.
Tightening Sequence:
3. Set the rocker arm assembly in place and loosely install the bolts. Make sure that the rocker arms are properly positioned on the valve stems.
4. Tighten each 8 x 1.25 mm bolt two turns at a time in the sequence shown to ensure that the rockers do not bind on the valves.
- Repeat sequence until 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) is reached.
- Apply engine oil to the bolt threads
Intake Manifold Installation:
5. Install the injector base.
Camshaft Pulley Installation:
6. Install the back cover, then install the camshaft pulley.
